Durante la semana pasada, hemos sido testigos de actos flagrantes de racismo sistémico y el brutal asesinato de George Floyd. Estamos indignados y entristecidos por la muerte sin sentido y el asesinato de otro hombre desarmado de la raza negra.

Over the past week, we have witnessed blatant acts of systemic racism and the brutal murder of George Floyd. We are both outraged and saddened by the senseless death and the killing of another unarmed Black man.

Our last day of instruction for the 2019-20 school year is this upcoming Friday, June 5th. I wanted to personally thank each of you for your tireless support, hard work and dedication during this crisis. In this week’s message, I will be providing updates on planning for the fall of 2020, the remainder of the 2019-20 school year, summer school opportunities, and other resources for our school community.

Nuestro último día de instrucción para el año escolar 2019-20 es el próximo viernes 5 de junio. Quería agradecer personalmente a cada uno de ustedes por su incansable apoyo, trabajo duro y dedicación durante esta crisis. Tuesday, June 2nd from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. We have the opportunity to create a new vision for schools. What does that look like in a post-covid 19 world? Schools are re-opening and we need your help to envision equity.

Next week is the last official week of instruction and learning for the 2019-20 school year, and I am particularly reflective of how each of you has shown resilience, strength and dedication during these past few months.

La próxima semana es la última semana oficial de instrucción y aprendizaje para el año escolar 2019-20, y estoy particularmente reflexionando sobre cómo cada uno de ustedes ha demostrado resistencia, fuerza y dedicación durante estos últimos meses.

I cannot believe there’s only 2 weeks left in the 2019-20 school year. As I reflect on all we have been through together this year, I once again want to thank and commend you for your outstanding resilience, strength, flexibility and patience. Below are some updates and helpful resources for this upcoming week.
