greetings classic 2020 this is not the way however covid-19 has changed our lives for many of you I've known since kindergarten I've had the pleasure of watching you grow mature and become an amazing woman as a principal partner my goal was to provide you with a safe and fun place to learn more importantly I wanted to provide you with experience that would help you to create positive Elementary School memories I'm so proud of you you will be missed we began this journey together we have equipped you with all the tools you need to be outstanding middle school students am I from Garner I challenge you to take the knowledge of mine and use it to help the make the world a better place but for now the well as of today you are officially an alumni of Hyde elementary Hornet or ever Titus of dr. Erica Torres and I want to take this opportunity to congratulate all of our amazing huddle Scholars you did it and we are so proud next year will be fun and full of Adventures and we look forward to welcoming you back on behalf of the Inglewood Unified School District congratulations on your promotion we are all so very I love you greeting 6th graders of hudnall school and I am so honored that your teacher asked me to make remarks regarding your 6th grade culmination she has told me so many wonderful things about you especially during this challenging time of school closure how hard you worked how you engage with her throughout the entire time never gave up despite very challenging situations I think one of the things I really want to commend you for is working so hard since you were in the kindergarten to get where you are now this is one step on a journey that's going to result in you going into going to college a life decision that sets you up for success but all the hard work you've done since the time you were for five years old maybe even younger whenever you started school to get you to this point of finishing sixth grade matters and it matters a lot because it's one of the things that I'm so impressed about about you is what missing piece of his share with me about how hard you've worked since we had to close school due to the pandemic how you did not give up how you gave your in your bath despite very challenging situation I understand the point that she gave you to memorize and Victor it was something that you had to commit to memory formation and I think that that's such a beautiful choice it's all about persevering in really challenging situations and not giving up and not lick it letting circumstances dictate how you respond to those circumstances that is such an important quote to have and I'm sure young age you've already exhibited that I know because I was a teacher I was a principal Once Upon a Time how hard and challenging must have been some days when you had to log on complete work remotely work independently with your teacher right there with you instead you adapted to a new environment you learned how to work together in an online environment how to complete your assignments collaboratively while being home independent environment to make sure that you completed 6-way successfully that is not easy that takes perseverance that takes commitment that takes it takes a belief in yourself that no matter what's going on in the world around me stay committed to what I know is important what I know is best for me but I know it's going to get me to the next step in my life which were you guys is 7th grade and before you know it before you know it you'll be seniors in high school University of College or career that you've chosen to make sure that you have every single option available to you you are beautiful you are you are talented and you are going to be the p change this world is so badly needs people like you who have not given up in difficult situation to a committed who are collaborative who are loving to make a change in this world and I am honored to be a small part of your journey I am honored to be able to speak to you and I am honored to serve you you are the reason I come to work every single day I wish you the best I wish you much success as you transition seventh grade thank you so much and I want to thank your teacher missing gisa who is so dedicated to you take care and I hope to see you soon Elations to the sixth graders at hudnall elementary school class of 2020. My name is Haiti HIV I'm so proud Chief Human Resources officer are beautiful District Inglewood Unified School District I know that your dreams will come true as well because you're a student at Inglewood Unified School District during this accomplished flaunt your perseverance and you demonstrate resiliency I am so proud of every single one of you do not let anybody tell you that you cannot achieve what you want to do your prove and all that you can achieve you're strong you're mighty and The Best Is Yet To Come it is students like you that will make Inglewood Unified School District shine stay safe and dream date hudnall 6th grade students I'm ujima Jose James executive director of Elementary education I was asked to give a few words for you today as you commence or promote to 7th grade from Inglewood Unified School District and I just want to say a few words to you all thank you all for giving me the opportunity to say a few words to meet you I wanted to tell you all and I have a few notes Here I want to tell you all what this covid-19 a stay-at-home order I want to commend you all for your tenacity and resiliency I know it's been challenging being at home and not being able to in the school year with your friends being at school everyday don't want to let you know that you're demonstrated the resiliency and I said the word tenacity and resilience and being able to be flexible it's been an apple I need for you to demonstrate that you are 21st century learner are you been able to be at home and demonstrate distance learning it's been an opportunity to spend time with your family and dementia that you are collaborative Learners don't want to commend you all you're going to look back in time for a while I persevered and so I want to thank you all for demonstrating and that you are children that can be resilient and so I know it's not what you had planned but I want to thank you all and and show you that you can accomplish anything that you want to do in your life and this has been a time where you demonstrated behind me I don't know you wondering like why is she talkin with clouds in the a Stairway ladder going up into some clouds well I'm going to read this quote to you by Spencer W Kimball says growth comes from your goal is high and reaching for stars and I didn't want to put the Stars up but I want it never symbolic in your life you're going to set goals going to set goals with class how to set goals when it comes to sports you going to set goals when it comes to what schools you want to go to one career you want you and I always want you to remember that you going to set your goals high I want you to reach beyond what you think you can do to try to reach set that go higher than what you think you can do and there's also some quotes out there that you when you reach for such a goal for the moon and then you if you don't get what you think you could do still end up in the stars and so like I said let me find something that can demonstrate reaching high and go higher which set your goals high expectations for yourself reach high always know that you can do your best so if you want to take that car to class take that harder class if you want to reach that if you wanted whatever you want to be in your life you can do you just do best rated that you have resilience flexibility and you can accomplish whatever boat you want so that's why my message to you achieve what you want Big Dreams be dreamers and in such Acts patient I if it takes there's no no timeframe for anything you want if it says that it's a four-year degree and it may take you 5 years to do if it's if you know whatever your dreams say you can do so that's my my my wish for you all to set your dreams High Reach for the Stars climb that ladder behind me keep going and I want the best for you also congratulations class of 2020 I'll see you all out there congratulations to class of 2020 are awesome 6th graders you did it honor working with each and everyone of you it's a pleasure to watch how you have grown so much I know the last part of the school year has been very challenging with the covid-19 but guess what you didn't give up you completed the tasks that you started and you passed you did it and this is a true example to show that you are go-getters your conquerors and that you could reach and achieve anything you put your mind to the sky is the limit for each and everyone of you continue to stay focused you will be missed truly is really been a pleasure working with each and every one of you God bless you stay safe stay healthy and this too shall pass bye love each and every just remember the sky is the limit by by
